Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Destination

On May 27, 2021 by Olivia

The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one of the biggest sites to see in the area. In fact, it has two active volcanoes Mauna Loa and Kilauea, both of which are some of the greatest on the planet. That makes it a great destination to take pictures and take in the scenery for yourself. Besides its unique geological aspects, there are various historical and cultural ones as well.

Not many people can say they’ve been around a live and active volcano, making this trip an adventurous and exciting endeavor. That makes it worth visiting the state for this site alone.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

This site was signed in as a national park on August 1, 1916, making it one of the oldest available. Before any commercial flight was available, this was before making visitors come to the island by long ship voyages. These days, it’s considered an international landmark and not just part of the USA. Part of protecting this area has to do with the study of the two volcanoes here.

The park recently closed around August 2018 because of various eruptions and disruptive activities. On December 20, 2020, the Kilauea volcano fully erupted after a continuous active cycle. However, not many people were likely in the area due to pandemic restrictions from the recent virus. If you’re planning on visiting, check for the local activity before you go.

The same Kilauea volcano erupted from a different place in 1983, making it the most active one. That makes visiting a bit more exciting, if tricky. Do you want to witness a more active time, or would you rather visit during a calming time? The choice is yours, but that makes doing research and staying updated that much more important. Consider these aspects before jumping on a plane.

Keep in mind that this national park isn’t a place with many pre-built theme parks and other amusement places. It’s where you go to see what the natural world has to offer, including its majestic beauty. It really is a place where you get away from the stresses of everyday life, including work and personal responsibilities.

In Conclusion

There aren’t many places you can see real live volcanoes with your own two eyes, making Hawaii a great destination for experiencing something truly unique. Prehistoric and native inhabitants connected these majestic forces of nature to a higher power. In some ways, it reminds people today that a higher power still exists.
