Information Before Visiting The Colosseo

On May 27, 2021 by Olivia

As we all know this place is considered one of the wonders of the world, the Colosseo is a wonderful structure created at the hands of man, it was built in 80 AD, and it was the largest amphitheater in the entire city, it is said which has capacity for fifty thousand people.

The Colosseo was built thanks to sophisticated engineering techniques of the time, these included an elevator system and the ability to fill the stage with water to hold naval battles. This place was the entertainment house for brutal games in Rome, the most popular being the gladiatorial fights against animals such as lions.

Today this place both inside and outside is wonderful as it was in its time, you can visit a museum with varied information to learn more about its history and the city. In addition, you can visit its rooms and the underground corridors.

When you visit Italy, it is mandatory to take a tour of the Colosseo, but our recommendation is to plan this visit since it is one of the most visited tourist places by tourists in the entire city.

To visit the Colosseo you must buy a ticket to enter, which you can buy at the box office of this place, or easily buy it on the web to avoid the long lines to buy tickets, its cost is:

Normal ticket € 16

ART ticket: € 9.50, (with this ticket you can enter the coliseum from 2:00 p.m.)

Reduced: € 2 (this ticket is only for citizens of the European Union aged 18 and 25; admission is free for people under 18 years of age).

The Coliseum opens its doors to the public every day from 10:30 to 19:15, hours in the low season are shorter. This place is closed every January 1 and December 25.
