Masjid Putra In Putrajaya, Malaysia

On May 27, 2021 by Olivia

The modern and cultural Masjid Putra is a spiritual center located in Putrajaya, Malaysia. The mosque’s construction started in 1997 and finished in 1999, making it one of the more recent ones. Since the country’s official state religion is Islam, this building is one of the most important areas. It’s a place where people come for spiritual as well as communal activities.

Masjid Putra in Malaysia

Also known as the Pink Mosque in English, this stylized and cultural type of architecture is a common sight in various eastern countries. Buildings aren’t just functional centers for gathering groups of people, but they’re also made majestically and mystically visible to the human eye, especially for such a building. The color scheme is fairly simple but stands out from its surrounding area.

Surrounding the incredible architecture is Putrajaya Lake, an artificial body of water that spans 650 hectares and has an average of 6.60 meters in depth. It functions as a natural way to cool the surrounding city, which is a must for this tropical climate. It’s also used for various recreational and functional activities, such as water sports, water transportation, and fishing.

Besides this local building for the community, builders developed much of the modern architecture in the late 20th-century you can find. This includes the surrounding Putra Square by the mosque, which has been used for various festivals and parades. Surrounding the square is also the prime minister’s office building as well as the Promenade Shopping Mall.

In Conclusion

If you’re visiting the local area, this is definitely a sight you want to visit. While it’s not strictly forbidden for non-Muslims to come around here, it’s best to respect the traditions and practices in this place. The other attractions in the area make for an overall well-rounded visit to the city. Be sure to stop by if you’re in the country.
